The district’s College & Career Night programs are sponsored by all 3 high school PTSAs. Programs will be hosted at either SOHS, OCHS, or Arvin Center this year.  ALL students and families are welcome and are encouraged to attend.

TIPS FOR ATTENDING THE REGIONAL COLLEGE FAIR

 

Learn what all high school students need to know and achieve during their high school years to be in the best position to select & apply to college. Discussion will include other college related topics, including increasing scholarship eligibility, registering for standardized tests and knowing what to ask college admissions directors when you attend Oldham County’s Regional College Fair. Pam Brown from College Prep Resources will be presenting.

This is a great chance to learn about the various programs, majors, and scholarships that these schools have to offer and get your questions answered directly with the admissions teams.

This workshop, led by our KHEAA outreach counselor Kelly Smith, will help students and parents understand the financial aid application process and the FAFSA. Learn how college aid packages are computed, as well as how to obtain college grants and loans.

Learn the importance of and why students take these standardized tests for college admission and scholarship opportunities. This seminar will also address how the tests differ, what students can do to improve their scores, and when students should plan to test.

This program will feature college disability resource coordinators, parents and students in a panel format. Panel speakers will share information about accommodations at the post secondary level from their different perspectives.  Learn about what is currently offered through your child's 504 Plan or Individualized Education Plan and the process for accessing what is available at the college level.
